Description:
Pathways 2 Employment (P2E) provides vocational
rehabilitation services through an agreement
with the Ohio Rehabilitation Services
Commission. These services focus on providing
employment readiness skills, training
opportunities, restoration, job experiences, and
employment supports such as job coaching. These
services are provided to Sandusky County
residents who have disabilities that impact
their ability to work competitively. P2E serves
two target populations; transition youth with
any diagnosis and people with developmental
disabilities. P2E works closely with all
Sandusky County school districts, mental health
agencies, and other service agencies which
results in collaborative services to the
individual.

Community Employment Services
Description:
Community Employment Services (CES) provides
employment opportunities for individuals with
developmental disabilities who have a desire and
ability to work in a competitive, community work
environment but needs the assistance of a
trained staff person. These services offer a
wide range of staff support to individuals with
disabilities.
Services available
• Mobile Work Crews: A crew and a support staff
are able to go to a work site to perform job
assignments as developed with an agency.
• Job Coaching: A support staff can provide
additional training assistance or intervention
to an individual who is independently hired by
an employer.
• Follow Along: A support staff periodically
visits with the employee and/or employer to make
sure there are no problems or concerns that need
to be addressed or assistance is needed with.
The support staff can provide additional
intervention or training if problems are
identified at this time.
Areas of Opportunity
CES staff and services have been able to
accommodate many employer’s needs and requests.
After identifying and discussing an agency’s
request, CES staff will be able to determine if
these services can be developed and provide a
service quote. The strongest value in these
supported employment opportunities is the
employer receives a service that is needed, but
has limited involvement or responsibility in
establishing or maintaining it. CES staff
identify the right employees, provide the
training, and provide the long term supports
that ensure the success of the service and
employees. Potential employment opportunities
could be but are not limited to:
• Janitorial
• Kitchen or dishwashing services
• On site small parts assembly or sorting
• Grounds keeping

area until shredding is complete. A “certificate

completed. Two options are available that will
allow this service to meet unique needs and
expectations.

pound.
• You can drop off documents at Sandco

of operation are Monday through Friday from 8 am
to 4 pm.
Cardboard Recycling
Cardboard is collected at the Sandco Workforce
Solutions and Peak Industries building located
at 1071 North Fifth Street in Fremont. Hours of
operation are Monday-Friday from 8 am to 4 pm.

this location. However, if cardboard is picked

Benefits
• All services are provided by Sandusky County

and trained support staff. All employees working
in the document destruction areas are trained on

high standard of confidentiality. This also
provides a meaningful work opportunity for these
individuals to earn an income.
• All paper and cardboard is recycled which
ensures a better environment and eliminates a
destination to a landfill.
